You will also receive a packet with information about our salon policies, your stylist’s biography, and our price list. We provide all services in a private setting, ensuring full communication between you and your stylist. Arlette Pender, Founder
Arlette Pender is one of the industry’s most innovative stylists, specializing in natural hair care and weaving. A graduate of the Robert Fiancé School of Beauty, Arlette has worked in the top salons throughout Brooklyn, New York. At a very young age, she discovered she had a passion for caring for hair that was not treated by chemicals.
Encouraged by her mother to be self-reliant, Arlette began braiding hair for the children in her Brooklyn neighborhood, developing her own method of adding hair to braids to make the hair longer. Using this method, Arlette soon began to create a variety of unique and versatile styles. “This became my passion,” says Arlette. With a growing clientele clamoring for natural hair care, Arlette developed other methods of styling natural hair. Arlette has achieved great success in the industry for producing undetectable full head weaves and extensions. Her ability to add tracks to hair to achieve greater fullness to a hairstyle is unparalleled. She is excellent at creating one of a kind lok designs to match your individuality and personal style.
After several years of honing her skills with natural hair, Arlette has achieved great success in the industry for producing undetectable full head weaves and extensions. Her talent resulted in a loyal following which includes celebrity clients such as Kelis Jones, Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, N’Bushe Wright and members of the WNBA and Major League Baseball. Also, Arlette’s work has had her work featured in both industry and lifestyles publications such as Essence, Vibe, Floss, Braids & Beyond, Beautiful Braids, and Sophisticates Black Hair Magazine. Recently Arlette has been featured in an Infomercial as well as product ads, videos and much more.
Arlette relocated from New York to Arizona in June of 2005 and once again found a need for natural hair care in the community. After a few months of networking, Hairloks by Arlette, a natural hair care salon, opened in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Recognizing the need for stylists to expand their services to include clients with natural hair, Arlette has developed a natural hair care training program. This unique training program offers classes for both individual stylists and salon owners or can be included as part of the core-curriculum for beauty schools. With love for the craft, Arlette and HBA stylists are committed to providing their clients with healthy, beautiful, natural hair.
